Greenfields Petroleum Corporation Announces Receipt of Shareholders Approval in Respect of the Previously Announced Corporation Redomestication

Greenfields Petroleum Corporation (TSX VENTURE:GNF.S) (the "Company" or "Greenfields"), an independent exploration and production company with assets in Azerbaijan, is pleased to announce that the previously announced corporate redomestication (the "Redomestication") of Greenfields to the Cayman Islands has been approved at a meeting of the shareholders of Greenfields ("Greenfields Shareholders") held on August 11, 2011. It is expected that all transaction steps with respect to the Redomestication will be completed on or about August 18, 2011.

Subject to the completion of the Redomestication on or about August 18, 2011, it is expected that the redomesticated company, which will be named "Greenfields Petroleum Corporation", will commence trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol "GNF" on or about August 23, 2011, with no ".S" qualifier on the symbol.
